Lovely cottage in great surroundings. Loved waking up to hearing the sheep and cows and Andrew was great, answered all our questions before we arrived.

Good value for money, nice comfy bed, a rather noisy fridge. Not many places to walk near the property without going on the road.

Great location, dogs loved the walk over 2 x fields to see across to Morecambe Bay. Cottage Very comfy, had everything we needed, Andrew made us feel welcome. Definitely recommend, hope to be back.

Excellent value for money. Was very quiet even though it's a working farm, whilst you do have to basically walk in the road to walk anywhere it didn't feel dangerous doing so. You can always drive places or get a taxi and it's not far into the centre of Lancaster. Only thing to complain about is the beams need dusting. You have lovely beams in both the living room and the bedroom but they are really dusty, with plenty of spiders. Don't get me wrong spiders aren't the issue, presumably you can't stop spiders getting in (they were everywhere). But it's the really old webs combined with dust that's the issue. Even if you just hired someone to clean the beams once a month, they're a really nice feature after all. I'd definitely stay again but it would be nice if you addressed the dust issue. I'm giving five stars as it's still an excellent place to stay, so it would be unfair to mark it down.

Loved staying here. Slept like a log. The owners are very busy farmers but take time to welcome you and are very friendly. Car is essential really. Lancaster is 5 minutes away by car.

Marvellous place, ideal for a most relaxing holiday in the middle of Lancaster's wonderful countryside and yet close to all amenities of the center. Equipped with all commodities. Landlord and wife very nice people always ready to help

Andrew built nice flats with all facilities inside his farm. We spent very good moments and we deeply recommand theses accommodations. NB: 8/10 mn max drive from Lancaster University & Lancaster city

Family stayed here for a birthday celebration. The cottages are part of an actual working farm which can be viewed as a positive or negative depending on your view point. Great quiet location and good value for money. If I'm being picky, the decor is a little dated and could do with a refresh but the premises are clean and tidy.

An unfortunate let down. This property looked very impressive on the outside but the old adage is true, never judge a book by it's cover. On entering the cottage it is obviously older than advertised. The sofa had a considerable amount of dried food ingrained into the material and the general standard of the finish within the building was NOT up to a four star standard. Moving into the bedroom the bed linen and pillows were stained with god knows what and the overall quality of the linen was not as expected. We are not a fussy family but when it comes down to basic hygene and the fact that we were charged four star prices we decided to tackle the owner. He agreed that the bedding was not up to an acceptable standard, but that we would have to wait three hours for his wife to return before he could change the bedding. Being late Saturday when we arrived after a long journey we did not think this suitable and asked for a refund on the basis that the property was far from what was advertised in the Visit Lancashire brochure. We only managed to get half of our £500 back and found a much better cottage in the area for our 2 week holiday. Personally i would not take the risk on this property as there are far nicer rentals in the area for the same price.

Great little cottage, more than expected was provided. Owner friendly but given our own space. Just what is needed after long days walking the fells. Everything was clean. Only problem being WIFI not functional due to building layout/signal strength issues - owner did say in the welcome pack this will be addressed shortly, May of been specific to Knotts Nest, Visited Jan2013.- 2people2wellbehaveddoggies
